Is email still relevant? Yes!
A recent study was conducted to get accurate readings for the efficiency of email. The study showed that year on year opens, click through rates (external links) and click to open rates have all gone up while unsubscribes have gone down. This was averaged across all sectors and devices.
Whilst some people might think that email is ‘old school’, the stats clearly show that its popularity is far from on the wane, it is in fact it’s on the rise. No more so than via mobile.

The biggest complaints with mobile email: Receiving too many (44%), Not relevant (37%), Website and landing pages not mobile optimised (26%) and Not well formatted for mobile phones (21%).
Replies sent from phones are 54% faster than those sent from desktops.
